Batteries?

Ok, another easy question from a new guy.Batteries:what brand is best?How many mah's?

I have IB 4200's and love them. GP and IB batteries are best IMO.

It would depend on your budget. The best is like lipo or limn. They have low weight and long mah. I have some ib 3800 and gp 3700. As long as you get some good cells you are fine. Get some gp or ib batts the mah is up to you and your wallet. The higher the longer the run will be.

i herd that Gp 4300's are out but not sure on how people like it. the IB 4200's and Gp 3700's, Gp3300's and IB 3800's are most common used.
like coolhand said the amount of money your willing to spend affects the runtime you get.

i have heard the gp 4300s arent very good and dont hold there voltage well. the ib 4200s are great though. i have them and love them.

Yea, the gp4300's have a crappy voltage, and besides, you wont notice any difference in runtimes...

I also read that the tipical capacity of the GP4300 is 4100 mAh, it's even printed on the shrink.

If it only has a 4100 mah how can they sell them for 4300. That seems kind of crazy to me. I like the gp 3700 but the ib seem to hold a little more. The have a new cell out called a k4. I don't know much about these. I may be wrong on the name of them though.

Arent they 4K coolhand? Anyways on my ib4200's the typial capacity is 4200/4300.

Brand, I am a new guy too.....I have quickly learned that batteries are your best investment. I had a cheap set and upgraded to IB3800 and the difference is amazing. When you buy, assembling yourself is the best way to go. I would recommend using all deans products (wires and connectors). I didn't believe the connector made that much of a difference, but when I put the on the stock E-Maxx, there was a noticable increase of power. Invest in a nice soldering iron - atleast 60 watts. If you have a cheap set of batteries, practice putting those together. A battery jig would be nice, i have been looking for one of these, but it seems everyone is sold out! Take a look at:

He has an awesome step by step directions for assembling batteries.

If you get pre-assembled batteries, it seems most folks on the forum recommend side by side set up and not the stick packs.
