My HS-7955TG jitters when I turn on the TX... why?

Hola amigos!

I just tried to setup my TX/RX and servo for a Savage build... unfortunately the servo start to jitter and is noisy when I turn the TX on :(

The TX/RX combo is this one from HK: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=16199

It must be related to the servo being digital... since my old analogue acoms servo is silent and jitter free when i plug it into the RX and turn on the TX.

The jittery behaviour is without any load.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

What esc & batts are you using?

Xerun 150a and Turnigy 5800mAh's in series... however the servo is quiet as a "insert fitting word or phrase" when the ESC (and thus the RX) is powered on.

The noise + jitter only occur when the TX is also on.

Is it just a characeristic of digital servos?

Not really a characteristic no- sometimes they can buzz a little if they havent perfectly re-centered & the truck is on the ground, but they shouldnt really jitter alot like that; does it do the same thing with the wheels off the ground?

You might be able to adjust the dead-band on your radio so that the servo isnt quite so sensitive to the center position, though Im not sure what settings are available so it might take some fiddling to get some results.

If you had a different radio you could test it with that, or it might be worth making sure the servo wires are routed away from the esc and rx as much as possible too, and braid the motor wires perhaps ( try everything more or less )

The newer Hitec servo's (digital ones) all can be programmed. One of the on board perameters is the servos dead band (or neutral zone) and the default I believe is a little too narrow. If it bugs you too much there is the option of purchasing the programmer and changing the setting.

The quality difference in answers here and at the HK site is enormous! :)

I'll try to widen the dead band a little!

The issue was also pressent last year with another cheap TX/RX combo (the Acoms 2,4GHz). But the noise level surely did increase with the HK TX/RX.

Wireing isn't the issue since its not installed... neither is load by the wheels or noise from the motor. I'll play around with it and let you know if I had any success!

digital servos do make noise. I have never done anything to correct it and the servos are fine. You don't need to do anything unless the noise really bothers you.
