my zcar /LRP Truggy build - 06.11.2011, 04:14 PM

so finally I decided to do an other truggy build and decided to go for the LRP S8 TX Team Truggy , aka Zcar aka ??, as the race roller was on sale.

Again I wanted to do as much as possible by my self.

The battery Tray is made of Kydex, the motor mount is made of aluminium and epoxyde/gfk.

the motor mount is very stiff and has a good heat-transfer to the chassis. It works very well, no problems what so ever.

It does not look that new anymore...

A losi smart diff is ordered, I miss my torsen as center diff. But its too long and so I got the smart diff which will fit. If you once used a LSD, you always want one.

Motor is a Tenshock X801 with 1900kv and the xerun 150, finally after some damaged hk150a and damaged Leopard.

the fan for the motor is for the hot weather we had recently here in Hamburg.

the car is just fantastic, very direct to drive, and can handle even very heavy bumps. I love it

thanks mate. well, it's still selfmade, so it doesn't has the bling-factor compared to cnc-machined motor mounts, or the cool stuff you can buy here.

But the point is, that it works excellent, no wear of the pinion, no flexing at all. What I want to point out is that it's possible to build a mount and a battery box by your self, and it even works. and I want to do that by myself.

In the past conversions, I had similar mounts and they worked well. Some of the mounts you can buy in the store aren't that perfect: COG is too high, screws always get loose and other things.

Very nice looking truggy, I think the conversion came out great.

It looks like a a little like the RC8T. What type of rims/wheels are those? I've been looking for an all black set for my D8T.

yeah, you mean the blue. but it's not similar to any truggy, as it has a very special rear, and front. very very rugged car.

the rims are the standard offset rims, normaly yellow, but I dyed them black. just takes a while.

hi folks,

some news on that car. I had some changes regarding the motor, I have sold the tenshock, as it always got too hot, about 90 deg. celsius/190f... wtf... Great power and torque, but I emptied the batteries is a few minutes... not good at all. Many other guys had the same problems.

So I got that Leopard 4082 with 1500kv, but on 5s that is too low kv. The motor got too hot like that, even that the power and performance was good. At least 1600/1700kv are required for 5s I think. So I just sold that motor.

I got myself a new replacement rotor with 2000kv for my Medusa Afterburner 3680, the 1600kv rotor was damaged. We've got a shop here which sell the Afterburner motors.

What should a say, a beast, a monster, great torque. Of course, the 2000kv rotor has less torque compared to the 1600kv, but still sufficient. Very good to drive with. Never gets too hot on 5s, and together with the Losi smart diff it is performing well. Still, I liked the Torsen Differential better.

I will post some pics soon, just got a new shell. The zcar/LRP S8 TX Team is performing well, and is very, very rugged. Nothing broke so far. I just love it.
