Xray 808 motor mount Q? - 01.12.2012, 11:54 PM

I'm looking at Mr Monsters 808 motor mount and like easy access idea so I want to know if I can make it work for an upcoming project.

The gearing I'm planning will be 51 spur 16 pinion. Playing on Brians calc it says I need 1.4" (35.5mm) space between shafts.

Can anyone tell me if that gearing will work with that mount?

If I need to I can change the diff gearing to reduce the pinion to 13t but my prefference is for the larger pinion.

The 808 mount assumes a 42t spur gear and accomodates a range of about 10-11 through 24-25t pinions. Approximate adjustment range of 14-15 teeth. The 51/16 should just fit within the adjustment envelope, but the top plate would need to be remade and bottom of the mount would need to be spaced to accomodate the larger spur.

Yeah, I knew I would need a spacer under and new top plate. That'll be no issue. Given that, it'll just fit hey, awsome! Thanks Mike.
