What size motor for a Wraith? - 02.01.2012, 02:34 AM

Hey guys! I've been out of RC for a little while but not long, like always. I kept all my little stuff like my charger, RX8, MX-3, etc but don't have a motor to put into the Wraith kit I'm going to pickup. What do you guys recommend for Ultra4/KOH style stuff? Enough torque to do some crawling but enough speed for some small jumps and go-fast. I want to buy only from Tekin as I get their military discount.

Oh and who else here has a Wraith!?

:D

3300 pro 4 seems to be the new must have motor for high speed and crawling in one combo. Don't have a wraith myself but that seems to be a general consensus on RCC.

Your going to want to squeeze a 1717 in there, make the most of those solid axels.

I need to pickup some 3s packs, I only have two 2s packs right now. That setup seems small and like it wouldn't give as good results?

I saw the Pro4 and liked that it had more torque. I saw a very good analogy for the Pro4 vs the scx4 motors. The Pro4 is like a big block making 400hp at 3000rpm while the scx4 motors are like a small block making 400hp at 5000rpm, which is more up my alley to me. He also said you can't go wrong with either motor and that each one was great for crawling and high speed but he runs a Pro4 because he likes the torque and doing wheelies on 4s.
