MMMXLv2 issues :( -
06.10.2012, 04:55 PM
Hey guys,
I was running a MMMXLv2 (with the foam) in my baja up until last weekend when it gave up the ghost...
Bit of background on the setup:
Brushless baja
running 14/54 gearing
Running internal BEC
Castle Cap pack
No spark resistor
Conservative settings through the castle link
8000mah 30C constant 40C burst 7s lipos
8mm connectors on everything, soldered securely.
Worked fine through the first battery pack and half of the second... Running nice and cool (motor 40, esc 45 degrees C)
then it started cogging really badly... heating up (i temped it at 120 degress centigrade!!!!!) i let it cool down and tried again... still cogging and heating up....
I then plugged my 3rd battery pack in and it under read the voltage (6 beeps instead of 7)
I've taken it out of the vehicle now and the capacitors all show visible cracks... but nothing is burnt or smells cooked...
Please post up with any help to as what has caused this? I'm fairly careful with my setup and would like to know whats gone wrong?
Should the motor have survived... or could it be the cause of the issue?
Also, its under a year old, so i should be good for warranty exchange right?
