May rethink the MGT 8.0 after this.... - 06.12.2012, 06:06 PM

Finally blew up the transmission in the MGT 8.0. Lots of running, many 5s runs (that's what it was on when this happened), no 6s, but this was above and beyond what I thought I'd see out of the transmission in that truck.

8 buck fix, but a show-stopper to say the least!!

Is that a for sale item somewhere? I've been in my own little world until this just happened!

e-bay? There have been a few MGT's on here built with a center diff replacing the tranny. I personally have a savage and e-maxx with a center diff, and an LST with a dm-1 center spool.

With a center diff splitting the power monster trucks seem much more reliable. I go through a lot of pinions with the LST, but it is fully aluminum and quite heavy.

Oh I get the whole center diff idea, just not sure where to get one for a reasonable price. Not sure I can fab up something I would trust. I'll check around.

Krawlin is trying to sell his and hasn't had much luck. He might be willing to part it out, or you could get the whole roller for a decent price maybe.

Thanks guys, glad to see that RCM has not forgotten me!

As brainanator said, my e-MGT is for sale. I think the last page of my thread here on RCM has recent pictures of it, if not check URC in the "e mgt" thread, last page. If you are interested, PM me and I can let you know how much I'm selling it for, it's very cheap for an RTR package (same was what a new 4.6 nitro MGT would cost, but this has upgrades and its way more awesome than a nitro MGT. ).

Sorry I didn't reply sooner, I was in Kansas City for a week, didn't have time to check the forums. I replied to your PM a few minutes ago.
