how many cells? - 05.25.2006, 11:57 PM

hey guys, i'm running 6s lipo right now and was wondering how much performance my g2r would loose by going 4s or 5s lipo? by going with less cells i would also like to add more capacity. i'm running a 1950/8 with a 12020. i'd like to make it a little more controllable on the track. also what is a good weight for a g2r? mine seems a little on the heavy side, 12-15lbs im guessing for mine. thanks in advance, carl.

With lipo's its more like 11 to 12lbs rtr which is a good weight. I think 5S lipo would still offer GREAT perfermance yet save a little weight and make it a little more controllable on the track.

Are you running a 6S2P or 1P configuration? I would go for some backs made up of 4000mah cells in a 3S2P pack and a 2S2P pack for 8000mah.

What do you mean by 2 3S packs? Is'nt that what your running? I would run one 2S2P and 1 3S2P in series for a total of 5S and 8000mah (if there made of 4000mah cells).

you asked if i had 2p or 1p config. i wasn't sure so i said i think 1p? then i told you 2 3s packs so you could determine 1p or 2p. i'm running polyquest right now, can i get more in the config you talked about squee?

Oh, ok. I understand now. I can't determine whether or not your running a 1P or 2P setup though. Having the mah would help though. There are several companys that make 3S2P and 2S2P packs with either 6000 or 8000mah. maxamps.com for one.

Yes, that is an option. Somewhere I heard that it it better to run in series than in parallel for some reason.

Yea, but if I remember correctly it had something to do with them getting out of balance I believe. I think it was something about them being easier to get out of balance if there in parallel.
