Tower has the 3200 SHD Kokams. I ran these in 5s configuration on an e-maxx at the track tonight. Performance was pretty amazing, to say the least.

5s means 5 cells in series, so 18.5 volts. I used a lehner basic 2400xl motor. It was too powerful for the small indoor track for sure. I launched it off the double and dented the ceiling!

Only Lithium Polymer I use at this moment is for my XRAY M18 Mamba Comp X (3S1P).

As long as your controller has a 3v cutoff feature, you should be alright but also you still have to make sure it can handle the current your E-Maxx draws and then figure out which set-ups you need and can use.

@mike,

With what controller?

Have you got more specs on the truck? weight, speed?

Nice! A fly-maxx.. the 2400XL is lighter than the 7XL isn't it? Tried that setup with the 7XL too?

Serum,
The truck is a 1st generation g-maxx. There is a picture of it in the photo gallery (yellow buggy body). The chassis and bulkheads are purple (Integy bulks). It has steel dogbones in the center, but plastic sliders to the wheels. It also uses modified bowtie tires (cut away some sidewall, cut out center treads and cut some of the diameter so they are slightly bigger than the komodos and very light). This particular truck has the racer x suspension on it at the moment.
You may be shocked to find that I am using a three year old (at least) 58ce controller on this truck (using the controllers bec also!). So, a 10 cell, 58 amp controller pushing 18.5 volts (21 volts when the batteries are peaked). I didn't run it long enough to thermal it or anything. When it hit the ceiling, the rear upper arm pulled out of the plastic as it bounced through the poles to the ground. The 2400xl is the size of a Feigao "s" motor, so it is about half the weight on the 7xl motor (less than 8 ounces). I haven't tried it with a 7xl, but I imagine the performance would be similar. It was very hard to drive on our tight indoor track.

We get a good emaxx showing for the RCMTRA races. We haven't been racing them this winter, but we play between the races. I don't know if RC-Madness has an emaxx class for the supercross event, but if enough e-maxxers showed up, I bet they would let us play.
