Integy Alloy Suspension - 06.11.2006, 03:22 PM

Hi all,

I'm interested in getting the Red alloy suspension from Integy. I'm concerned that this is going to something inferior to billet since it doesn't expressly say billet.

Can anyone offer any sort of advice or testimonials as far as alloy parts from Integy are? I'm building a bashing truck for my son and appearance is definitely a huge selling point with a 10 year old. I'd like to use a large amount of red alloy (towers, Skids, Suspension, bulks, etc) but, again, I'm very concerned these parts are molded show parts and not designed with the strength (billet) to be true bashing parts.

If anyone can offer advice for any other parts that are particularly sexy AND functional I'd appreciate it. Oh and before I forget it's an E-maxx.

They are not billet, they are molded.

They sure won't be as tough as the original UE racerX arms.

I would not use them for bashing, for pure racing would be okay though.

They are good for their price, but the ue's are simple better (but more expensive)

But every aliminum part (even from UE) can brake with bashing. If you want red, the UE isn't an option. (they only come in silver)

Serum, I don't think he's talking about the Type 3. The only one I know of thats red made by Integy is a standard type with the rear turnbuckles.

If you can't find the right parts in red, why not have some silver stuff anodized if you really want red.

It does take some effort damaging a UE part, but like Serum said it isn't impossible. Integy on the other hand isn't nearly as strong as UE. So if you want the ultimate strength, the (UE) Racer X or EXT suspension is the best option. But you need to paint/ annodize them red if you really want it.

IMO the type 3 is nice. It is not as strong as ue but pretty tough.
If you talking about the cheaper stuff that looks like stock.
I wouldn't waste my money on it. The flm is far superiour to that. I had just as good luck out of the plastic stock parts.

Peace!

Don't by aluminium remakes like Leroy said. They don't give any worthwhile benefits,

There are loads of companies out there that will annodize parts, it isn't expensive and they will give you help on which they think is the best method. I've had some stuff done before, not for my R/C though but it was a great finish.

If you want something pretty and strong UE all the way but for a 10 year old son. Is it worth spending all that cash on performance parts. ;)
