It will interesting to see how this truck turns out. I've owned BPP products before and I did like there product, I just wasn't impressed with there customer service. You usually have to give them a call to reach anyone, and when you do it seems as there is no timeline for anything. It took me months to get the racebomb chassis that I ordered and I never really got a reason why. I would pass on this truck for the simple fact that I doubt there will be much of a supply of replacement parts, and I wouldn't feel like looking at my race truck sitting there as the race season passes because it's broke and I can't get the part to fix it.

exatly! I mean BPP is a very small company, they just wouldn't have the dollar to put in the initial money to get a variety of replacment parts. What good is any truck if you can't fix it? And this truck isn't indestructable. It would also take a long long time before bpp or someone else makes an upgrade part for them. At 600-700 mrsp, it's just to deep for me. BTW, i like a 2 speed tranny at times!

No replacment parts is one of the main reason those radio shack r/c's are not popular.

Ok guys, figured I would get a few things straight. First off, I am not looking to advertise anything here I know this is Gorillamaxx territory. I just dont want negative press for no reason other than to make someone else look good.

1. High stress and wear parts are all off the shelf parts (your LHS probably already has them on hand)

2. All of my parts are designed and run through stress analysis. Are they unbreakable? Id be a billionaire if they were. I will say this, this truck can take stuff that would send the E-maxx home in a dust pan. Its designed as a race truck, a super strong rigid racetruck. If you want to bash around and hit trees at full throttle, buy a rustler.

3. I am working with several different companies that will possibly support it with different upgrades. I will also have upgrades for the truck.

4. I am just like you guys, but with cooler machines to play with. I do this stuff because I enoy it, not to put someone else's parts down. I know what it takes to make a successful truck, I know what parts break and why. Anything you can think of on this truck, chances are I already have and done it. Im not here to fight with anyone, it just sucks for someone to bad mouth something they have never seen and you have spent over a year busting your tail on it. All I am trying to do is raise the bar for the hobby, and it seems as people dont want that.

Also note, this truck has a chassis over 3/8" thick and two braces connecting the chassis and shock towers that are also over 3/8" thick. And yet, its still only 7.5lb as pictured with Rx pack.

I'm in no way trying to bash your product, I was just stating that I would be concerned owning one due to the availability of replacement parts. I made that statement prior to knowing that you would be using the HB platform for your truck. Regardless, good luck with your new project and I hope it sells well for you.l

On a scale from one to 10, i would give your first design a 10 and the second design an 7.5..

I am just a sucker for these solid savage a-arms... And the loss of the option placing a brake servo..

If you know what my savage has been thru and what kind of crashes he survived, i am sure, that a HB lighting suspension snapped in pieces and the upper arms (loooooooooong steel turnbuckles) would bent..

Did you do a redesign on the aluminum part on the front-front of the diff, that holds the hingepins for the lower a-arms? That is one weak link on the HB truck.

I actually have extremly good luck the the HB parts. I have hit solid objects at speed with no damage other than a broke shock shaft. And this was a brutal hit. The Pro arms are garbage, run the plastic arms on a pro platform and you have a serious set up.

The savage suspension will still work on the newer design, you can run either. The brakes were removed after comparing the two on the track. The brakeless version is dominant on the track.

It takes a hard lick to hurt them with plastic arms. Its also a good cheap easy fix if it does break. Id much rather pull out two pins and 2 screws than unassemble a diff case, or replace something else. I have bent my fair share of bulks on the Maxx, this set up is much more durable.

Okay, Those aluminum arms will waste the front piece of aluminum, i agree.

I like your truck, don't get me wrong! It will handle like a dream, i believe you for that.

Hot Bodies also makes a 7075 front hinge pin brace for the lightnig stadium truck, which should be a bit stronger. The Kyosho mp7.5 front brace works as well as I recall.
