Which car should i drop my lehner basic 4200 in? I had a stadium before so i kinda wanan try a buggy. But i heard the bk2 tranny is not BL suited. Ima only keep one of the 2 trucks. Which should it be? IS xxx-cr same as bk2? lol, im not sure.

PS. i got some nice NEW IB4200 batts on ebay auctions!!! Dont bid yet though, i might have to revise it.

The BK2 was superseeded by the xxxcr.

The xxxcr has more flex from the new material,it's got a new steering rack, vertical ball studs in the rear hubs for adj camber rise and a xxx tranny instead of the GenII tranny and some other bit's and pieces.Oddly enough the MF2 which is based on the BK2 is a very good truck, but it's a truck so it's a totally different matter.

I run all sorts of power through the BK2/MF2 tranny with no problems but that depends how good you are at tuning the slipper and ball diff together.Get it fractionally wrong and it'll melt, same with any ball diffed racing tranny.

The t4 is a truck and the bk2 is a buggy so it's not a comparison really.1/10 buggies are for racing, the trucks are good allround though, better for bashing certainly.

The buggys however can be converted to a truck and visa versa fairly easy, however, the truck, like Gustav said, will be a little better for bashing.

Gustav, which do you think is superior? The BK2 or CR? I was thinking a CR with the BK2 tranny would be the "ultimate".

Definately the CR is the better car,the BK2 was struggling a bit in the end, that's why it was so short lived.

I think the cr looks spot on just as it is,there's some other stuff you need to change to to run the genII tranny.http://losibk2.com is the best place to find out what.

The BK2 was better with the old tranny anyway,it was like the most popular mod for it.The team drivers were running the xxx rear end on the BK2s for a while before the cr came out. They made some little changes to the trans for the CR,the diffs are sealed better and i think they're supposed to be stronger. The diff gear for the genII tranny was the one from the old xxcr,it's all too confusing:005: .

Definately get the cr though,it's on my shortlist for sure,i'd have one if i didn't have so many other projects going.

It's not that kind of diff Nbcazn,it's a ball diff and has a screw running through it which you tighten or loosen to adjust the diff. It's normally done without any disassembly so you can make very quick adjustments for racing.

It's not difficult, basically with the 4200 you're going to need the diff and the slipper reasonably tight, you know when one is slipping because you can hear it(diffs 'bark' when they slip) and the outdrives will be hot.

You always want the slipper to slip before the diff beacuse you never want the diff to be slipping, but in this case you want them both fairly tight, otherwise the slipper will overheat. When we say the diff slipping we mean the whole unit slipping.ie both outdrives slipping on the balls.

The other thing is you need to be aware of is if you have the diff too tight it will overheat aswell because there's so much friction when it diffs out,so keep an eye on the temp of the outdrives 'till you get it adjusted,it should still feel smooth when you tighten it.

If you take it apart and have a look and read the manual it'll all become clear. You will have to get used to rebuilding the diff once in a while if you're going to keep it for long.
