Not sure what run time this will give you.
CVD's all around
hybrid or combo bulks(depends on what diffs)
HB's or UE diffs
IB 4200's your choice in cell count and what not
i would go 9920/8xl

Bare minumum you need to get the steel idler gears and some CVDs for the rear.
Mine did pretty well with the rest of the drivetrain stock, but I wasn't trying to do crazy stuff with it either... just racing and some "responsible" bashing, if that's possible.
The chassis/suspension mods is a personal choice... depends on how hard you want to beat on it.
For 30 min. runtime you need to go lipo IMO... total of 6000-8000mah 4s.

stock e.maxx + feigao 10L = ? -
07.30.2006, 05:51 AM
Hi !
Woud the stock transmission handle a feiago 10L on 12cells ?
and woud i gett the same preformance as with the titan's but longer runtimes with this setup ?
i was just thinking that this woud be a cheap stup:027: it's only 200$ for a 10L+mtronics esc!
i know that this motor need's more cells to realy preforme but i can't afford drivtrain upgrades right now so i thout i'd just buy this bl-setup for now and run it on 12cells.

Why buy it there? You can get it from mike if you want.
That away you will help support the rc forum you posting it on.
I edited your post to eleminate the companies name you had up.
The 10L will have more performance than the titans. You should be able to get a little longer run time as well. You will have to upgrade some stuff for the torque of the 10l.
Peace!

HV Maxx? But you'd be better getting the other from Mike. But even then you'd want to put steel idlers in your tranny and at least have cvd's

Nope...Don't cheap out and get the T-Bonz first off. Get the MIP's at least... I would suggest a XL motor and a 9920...a 9L would fry the 7020.

I would go 8xl if your only running 12 cells, and the 9920 like squee said. Basically, if you go cheap now, you'll spend more in the end!

Brushless setup -
08.01.2006, 08:46 PM
Here's the setup I just bought:
--------------------------
Product ID: TBTM01
Product Name: T-BONZ HARDENED STEEL CV DRIVE SHAFT SET FOR E/T-MAXX 2.5
Quantity: 1
Unit Price: $60.00
--------------------------
Product ID: flm10800emaxxextchassis
Product Name: Extended E-Maxx Chassis
Quantity: 1
Unit Price: $90.00
--------------------------
Product ID: QUARK_80A
Product Name: Quark 80B Competition Brushless Sensorless Speed Controller
Quantity: 1
Unit Price: $200.00
--------------------------
Product ID: feigao9Lmotor
Product Name: Feigao brushless motor 540 9L
Quantity: 1
Unit Price: $70.00
Any comments appreciated. It's Wicked fast with a pair of 7.4V Lipo batteries for a total of 14.8 volts. I've tried it with 14 NIMH cells for a run or two also. The Lipos are plenty fast for me. I can't find the top speed because I can't find a straight away long enough and obstruction free enough to hold it wide open for very long. I have not installed the drivetrain upgrades yet, but I've been very "responsible" with my bashing and haven't broken anything yet.
If anyone sees some component mismatches I would appreciate a comment. I'm running with stock gearing and I am noticing the motor gets pretty hot. What is a reasonable temp?
I'm just an OldSoldier...what do I know:032:

Stock gearing is rather high for your setup. Try something like 16/66. Does the Quark get hot?? I would image it would get rather toasty on a 9L.

Brushless setup -
08.02.2006, 11:17 AM
Thanks Squee... I don't remember the Quark getting excessively hot, but I'll keep an eye on it... I was more concerned about the motor. I agree I need to put a smaller pinion on it. That should keep my motor and hopefully speed control cooler.
What about the front center driveshaft...think I need to upgrade to CVD? The rear upgrade is included in the FLM Extended Chassis kit.
