I was trying to post a picture from a server a while back and found out that hot-linking was disabled. Any attempt to call up the image resulted in an error. So, I created a little HTML "cheater" page that will bypass the server's protection. This will let you have one of those free websites to host your pictures and still let you hotlink them (sort of).
Also useful if you want to put a link to an image on here and the forum's max size restrictions keep you from doing so.
You just have to download the attached file, rename it to picviewer.html, and upload it to your website. When you want to link to a picture, just call it up, add a "?", then the URL of the image.
You just create a link like this:
Code:
http://bgosselin.home.mchsi.com/picviewer.html?/e-jato/jato_done1.jpg
Which will look like this:
http://bgosselin.home.mchsi.com/picv...jato_done1.jpg or
this.
This
won't let you put pics directly into the post - that would be direct hot-linking. But it's the best I can do.
I realize this may be a little confusing to some, so if it is, I apologize and just disregard my ramblings. :)
