Is your BL MT Gettin' Heavy?

Just curious how heavy is everyone elses brushless MT setup with and without batteries. I feel that my setup is just way too heavy..

No batteries 16Lbs (7.25kg)
12 Cells 18Lbs (8.09kg)
18 Cells 19Lbs (8.51kg)
24 Cells 20Lbs (8.93kg)

I dont know the weight without batteries, but with 8s lipo my CRT weighs 11.8 pounds its got a 2240 that weighs it down, any truck with a 22 series motor will be on the heavy side, your 2280 probably weighs twice as much as my 2240 so it doesnt sound too overweight. You could switch to lipo and save a few pounds, it might help the wear and tear on the drivetrain too.

Mine is about 12lbs RTR with 16cells. Mine is all metal but 7075 mostly and some Titanium, which takes weight off compared to the cheaper stuff. :D

wow.. my maxx has to go on a diet... I'd love my maxx to be 16lbs with 24 cells.. how the heck am I gonna shed some weight.... I would like to lose atleast 2 lbs... and I'd be happy..... new flextek arms..., gonna get id of my bottom plate... hmm.. cuz the top plate is pretty much nothing...

With 4S mine weights just under 7lbs.

it must be the acncm chassis... cuz I have nothing on that e-maxx... except 4 40mm fans... 1/4 scale steering servo.. is only 100 grams more than a regular servo... that's it.. That bottom plate isn't heavy either.. I drilled out like a hundred 3/4" holes.... I'm gonna take everything off and weigh just the chassis skeleton..

If I remember correctly aqwut. Your chassis looks very heavy and beefy.
May all aluminum emaxx with batts is 13.5lbs. The tires are heavy and add some serious weight. I can loose the tires for a few lbs. If you do it
right you should be able to get under the 15 lb mark. If you keep going with a 100 grams here. 100 grams there. After a while you will have a 1000 grams on the truck and don't realize it. I will go with a heavier weight if it
means the truck is stronger. If you take the motor off you loose a few lbs on the truck.

Yeah.. I think I"m gonna cuz that whole bottom plate out and leave room for just the batteries... maybe I'll change the wheels and tires too.. I actually never thought about the wheels & tires... I have 10mm cvds in the front and rear.. should I use the beefier cvd on the front or rear?.. I have an extra pair of mips.. I think I might ask mike to make a custom chassis to fit a 1/4 scale servo and 24 cells, 2280...

With the hitec TG servos there is really no need for a 1/4th servo.

I had the airtronics 200oz servo... yeah.. maybe you're right.. I have an airtronics 200 oz/inch servo laying here too.. brand new... but I like that 1/4 scale servo.. it took some tremendous beatings.. and is only 100 grams more.. :) you're right Leroy, 100 grams here and there.. but it's really tough..
