Is it still an E-Maxx? - 10.07.2006, 07:34 AM

I was just looking at my brushless E-Maxx and noticed that every single part, except for a few transmission gears, had been replaced by aftermarket items. G2 chassis and Gorilla single speed, RPM arms and knuckles, UE diffs and cvd's, Quark ESC and brushless motors, Powerstroke shocks, the list is endless. Is it still an E-Maxx? What do you call these trucks?

But will she let you spend money on other trucks? Or does she get jealous?

if it's in 'she' mode, she gets jealous (read less pleased, you know how ladies can be) because i am spending too much time with you guys.. The other trucks are less of a concern to her.

Maybe a better term would be an ''E-Maxx Style'' truck. Cuz I agree.... there are actually very few parts left from an emaxx on there. Its actually kinda funny you say that, I was thinking the same thing not to long ago. When I started building my e-maxx, I went out and bought a used e-maxx to start with. Before long I had my truck and an entire box full of parts. Well I put those parts to gether and sold it as an emaxx that was almost identical to the one I originally bought. So I wound up literally replacing every single part on the original truck with an aftermarket part. Could have saved a lot of hassle by just buying all of the pats and then putting it together. I guess when I started I had no intention of ever taking it that far.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

Too funny, me niether! 3200.00 later! LOL. It's still an emaxx, or Gmaxx, or just plain old BL powered TRUCK! I brought mine to the LHS to show my buddy...his first words were..."what the hell is that!?" I told him to look at his T Maxx, he said "yeah?" It used to be that but the emaxx!:005:

I did exactly the same thing. My Supermaxx/Emaxx has a couple trans gears, shift dog, and diff gears. Otherwise not a single E-maxx part.

I label it a MAXX because that's what it is stock or aftermarket.

I do not have a name for it yet. (Not Steve, not Donna, etc.)

But I may come up with a fun name for it..............TBD.

side note...........Rene, you're killing me man! You are too funny somedays!

I gave this 'issue' a thought this day.

This is my verdict/theory;

It's using All the important dimensions of the emaxx..

but on the other hand, two girls (goodmood/nicetruckmode) with the same sizes/dimensions most likely have got different names too..

But they are 'girls' for that matter, i think e-maxx is a nice group/gender oriented name.

Let's take e-maxx as a surname. The E stands for the obvious. (Electrical) and the maxx is just a popular, i guess pure commercial/marketing chosen name. i think the short name for MAXXIMUM. which would be accurate if they came in titanium/7075 aluminum, and dropped the tupperware drivetrain.

Conclusion;

we are all using maxxes, but one maxx is living closer to the name MAXX than the other.

Perhaps we should give grade codes to the cars. from 0 till 10 it should be divided like this;

Max stage 0 >> plain stock max (only one X intended)
Maxx stage 10 >> fully hopped up no stock parts left

from stage 8 and up they deserve the full name;

E-Maxximum

Sandy-Maxx?

Big Bertha Maxx?

I'm struggling with the whole concept really..............

My Mustang is nicknamed "Blue Thunder". It has Medium Blue metallic paint with a supercharged 5.0L engine that sounds like a big-block............

For my E-Maxx I prefer something like Maxx-Destruction or something more monster truck-ish/World Wrestling Federation-ish. (Not that I'm big into WWF wrestling by any stretch of the imagination).

Yeah yeah, you love wrestling. point taken.. LOL

the maxx destruction pretty much depends on the used amount of power and driving skills. (if maxx is the name of the truck, and not used as a grade-indicator)
