i was looking at different brushless setups like novak(not best but cheep, for emaxx) it said the gear ratios but if i where to use a different model than the hv maxx or a different motor how would i know what size pinion, spur, and ire size to use so the motor does not run so hot and it is not bad on the esc.

In my gorilla revo I run 12/72 gearing and loved it on 12 cells. I now have it in a Gmaxx with HPI nubs and it seems to be real snappy so i'm going up on gearing to get the top end back. not sure where it will end but will be between 16 and 18 pinion.
You can't run other motors without a sensor wire and don't think any sensored will plug directly into the Novak HV without modification. The motor can run on other esc's(brushless) but have heard it doesn't run well with them
Work because i gotta, play because i wanna
People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

Stock Maxx diffs can't hold oil, so i assume you mean to lubricate, i'd get some associated black grease for all the gears (internal and ring gear). If you're getting 1/8 diffs, i'd suggest starting with abour 5,000 wt oil

Not possible....The Hybrids are for 1/8th scale gears. So that would require HB diffs, Ofna diffs, Kyosho diffs, UE diffs, etc. FLM doesn't make 1/8th diffs. They make stock replacements with would require the Combo bulks, not Hybrids.

Yea, the combos are a bulkless design as well. As for lube, I use Associated black grease, but there are alot of others as well. I would use something better, like if Ofna or Kyosho makes something similar, but I have alot of Associated, so...
