Question Carbon Fiber questions??? - 10.22.2006, 12:44 AM

I wanted to start a new project and wanted to use carbon fiber. Like aluminum, can it be bend or molded to fit shapes? Can it just be heated and bent to form battery trays and such?

Thanks guys.

Normal CF isn't bendable.

There is thermal CF on the market, that is bendable after you heat it up.

The moulding is quite a process, which can't be done at home, you need quite some stuff to do it.

It can be cutted with high speed rotary tools, and you can also file it. A jigsaw would work as well.

Be VERY careful with the dust. It's UNHEALTHY to inhale.
