E-REVO - Tranny question - 11.21.2006, 08:19 PM

Hi, I am working on a E-Revo project and I would really like to use the Nitro Revo tranny and disk brake. The problem is how would I activate the brake using a brushless setup? On the nitro Revo there is a servo to work the throttle and brake, on a brushless setup the ESC handles the throttle and braking. I can disable reverse on the ESC but there is no provision for activating the disk brake via the ESC. I have a beefed up EMaxx tranny as well, but I would really like to use the Nitro tranny. Has anybody performed this mod? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

As I see it, you have two options:

- Use a Y connector off the throttle cable. One side goes to the ESC with brake and reverse disabled. The other side goes to the servo.

- Or, if your transmitter supports it, you can use channel mixing on a 3 channel radio and use Ch2 for the throttle and Ch3 for the brake servo. This would let you control EPA and fine tuning on each channel seperately, but still use the throttle control for both.

You mentioned using mechanical brake, but it should also be noted that you cannot use reverse with this setup as well.
