Welcome to the site rchippie - Your trucks sound sweet - I myself run an 1897 schulze controller - How do you like yours? - I havent had any problems with mine as of yet - ( knock on wood ). Do you have any weights on your trucks - im interested to see what that racebomb weighs? And once again - Welcome...

I promiss you guys i'm working on getting pics.

The race bomb weighs around 11.5-12 pounds with 12 cells.

11.5-12 lbs - that is pretty beefy - You mentioned that you are running that on a 1897 and 9L on 12 cells - Have you tried that on 14 cells yet? That motor would really wake up to the extra voltage.

11.5-12 is kinda beefy, but it is a big truck. I havent tried 14 cells yet i'm trying to deside if i want to try it on 14 or just go ahead and buy the plettenberg maxximum with fan. From what i hear the pletty on 12 cells should be as fast as the 9L on 14 cells but with a little more torque.

I seriously doubt the Pletty will be as fast on 12 cells as the 9L on 14, or have more torque. The 14 cell system has the ability to create more power, simply beacause it has 2 extra cells. The Pletty motors are nice, but usually the limiting factor in performace is the batteries. More voltage will always create the opportunity for more power.
