XXX-T System Help - 01.08.2007, 04:41 PM

I purchased a Novak 5.5 system about 2 months ago for my XXX-T. The system works great and my truck is pretty fast with a 6 Cell IB4200wc pack. But like everyone here I am now looking for more speed  and I can only run 6 cells on the Novak:mad:!! I am thinking of switching to a Mamba Max 5700 with a
3s lipo from MaxxAmps or 8-10 IB4200 cells. How fast do you think this setup would be in my truck and does anyone have any other suggestions? I just want to get a system that I can make changes to down the road when I decide that I want even more! Thanks for the help.

Welcome to the forum BoysToys!

That mm with the 5700 is a great setup..

60 mph+ with ease, but you need to be careful with the lovely drive train..

3S on a 2wd is quite outrageous. 3S makes the 5700 turn into a beast. on the 6 pack IB4200's it will put down more power than the Novak.

Good thing almost any transmitter has got an EPA.. :p

Thanks fot the quick reply. I now realize that I should have went with the Mamba in the first place. As far as the power being to much to control I am hoping to be able to play with the ESC settings with my computer and the EPA on my Specktrum DX3.0 to keep things under control unless I want to let it all hang out. I know the drivetrain will take a beating but all of the parts are pretty inexpensive and easy to fix in a 2wd. That is why I am doing this to my XXX-T and not my E-Maxx.

Sounds like your on your way to a blast with the brushless - i would imagine you could put the novak on ebay if you wanted to get rid of it - and with the money you get from that - purchase slipper pads and rear ends for the T - Good luck and post back when she destroys all she comes across - and i almost forgot - Welcome to the forums.....

Hows that "Hope and Change" working out for Ya???

Yeah, that programming feature of the MM is a work of electronic art. the startup power etc.. You'll love it.

And before you know it, you'll be buying a setup for your maxx too.. :p

Wow thanks for all the replies. I am looking for speeds in the 45-50mph range for daily bashing but would like the ability to "kick it up a notch" when my neighbor takes out his 3.3 Revo. :017: I currently have a new 6 cell IB4200wc pack that I will continue to run and have not yet decided on what battery setup to get for the new setup. I will get either a 4 cell IB4200 pack that I can wire in series with my current pack or a 3s 6000mah or 8000mah MaxAmps lipo pack.:032: I ordered the MM today from my LHS and it should be here by Wednesday or Thursday. I am going to order the batteries in a day or two once I make up my mind. And does anybody have some gearing suggestions to start with?? Thanks!!

go with 2 cells it will be more controlable, even with 45mph you will be beating him (even though trxxas says 45 it is more like 40mph revo) so if you can get your car to 45 you should still beat him and with the 2 cell i might kick it up to 50 or 55 and 10-25 mph more is smoking him plus 2 cells would be more controlable (but i am not exactly accurate to the single mile per hour i can give you a just estimate). my vote is two cells maby 600mah becasue it is lighter and 8000 mah is like 45 minutes runtime so 6000mah would be like 37-40 min which is plenty and it saves weight and it is cheaper.

Thanks for the advice. I am thinking of going with a 3s 6000mah setup and just turning down my EPA to like 70% until I want to let it rip. I am going to experiment with some of my NIMH packs for now until I decide what to get. As for beating the Revo, he can barely take me now with the 5.5. I get the hole shot and he gets me at the end. I don't want him to even be sniffing me!!
