what's your battery setup for EMAXX? - 02.12.2007, 02:39 PM

just wondering what you guys are running? do you make your own batteries? is it not worth your time and do you just buy? any place to special order batteries? what are your run times? what charger do you use?

when i purchased my emaxx, the guy had 7cell, GP 3300. works nice when charged, but only lasts 15 min. they may be old. i'm using it with an intellipeak twin pulse charger.

I havent ran my packs yet because the truck isnt finished, but I just made 2 7 cell packs with Elite 3600's. First charge they took over 3800 mah. They are also highly recommended at cheapbatterypackshttp://www.cheapbatterypacks.com

In my TXT-1 I used to run twin 2400mah nimh no-name brand 6 cells stick packs-poor run time of about 5-10 minutes at best. I also had 2 3000mah nimh no-name brand 6 cell packs- better but not great. I finally got around to buying 2 nosram 4000mah nihm 6 cell packs- wow. Fantastic run time of 15+ minutes and great punch. I find it much easier to buy ready made packs since I wouldnt trust my soldering to make a pack, and its a lot quicker & easier for novices to choose something appropriate for their vehicle/budget. Its really down to personal taste / preference / wallet I reckons, but the more mah the better, thats for sure.

If you can afford lipo by all means go for it! But if your looking for some nice batteries on a stock setup, the ib3800s or 4200's will be good. But if you can find some new gp3300's, id take those.

The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL

If you want a cheap upgrade in power, try 7 cells:)
