lehner vs. mamba

hey guys,

have a quick question. i have a mamba 5700 in my stampede and was wondering if i were to get a lehner basic 5300 would there be any more power, efficiency, runtime? whats the rpm limit of the lehner basic series? nvm i found it, why is the lehner motor's max rpm limit alot lower the mamba's?

It's not...the Lehner Basic's should be 65,000 rpm, the same as the MM motors.

thats weird, when i typed my info in the speed calculator it told me the lehner basic rpm limit is 40,000

That's not a manufacturer specified limit, but recommended limit. Some motors tend to lose efficiency past that point.

o.k, that makes much more sense. so its o.k to run the lehners around 50,000-55,000 rpm?

Its ok , but not reccomended, will shorten the motors life, and will run hotter.

And heat weakens/destroys the magnets. Not to mention the extra heat and wear on those poor bearings.

Well, you should also take into consideration that Lehner KV figures are loaded (though I'm not sure about the basic's - can ayone comment on that?) while castle KV values are unloaded.

Anyway, 40,000 should be the limit. Its ok to go over a little, say a few thousand RPM, and its ok to have less RPM (some even run as low as 30,000).
