Motor setting on MM controller - 03.26.2007, 11:19 AM

When I program the MM controller manually, I cannot get to setting number 9, which designates the type of motor: brushless/brushed reversing/high power brushed. After I program setting 8, it just starts beeping slowly instead of doing 9 beeps followed by 1. Anyone had this problem? I just hold down the throttle at this point because the default setting is for brushless, it confirms calibration and runs fine. Any help is greatly appreciated.

What version of firmware are you running? Some people have had trouble with the newer version, although what you are describing is new.

Are you able to change it via the Castle Link software?

I did not try to calibrate it on my computer, since I have a macintosh powerbook, I dont think the little CD that came with the controller will work with my computer. Does the software work with macs?

I don't believe so. Do you have access to a Windoze machine to load it on?

Here's a clip from another forum:

Ok, I got a dumb question. I worked on going through the manual setting mode, which wasn't too bad, but it seemed to end early. Trying to set the speed to not have reverse at all, and I wanted to know if you select this option, is step 3, Reverse Amount, no long gone through?

Also, when I get to the end of all the settings, I get a single repeating beep. Is this the last mode or is it something else? Nothing in the manual describes this.

I tried it again, and basically it does go through all the steps. I hooked it up to my pc and confirmed all the settings.

I sent this to support:

RESPONSE:

#1 That's an error, we're fixing it. It's still setting the correct
motor type, etc. It's just beeping once instead of 9 times.
#2 You would still have to even though it wouldn't effect anything.
So it appears that it's programming vorrectly... but the end-program beeps are messed up....

so i guess i have it programmed correctly, i never used reverse for setting nine. I also ran across another problem, which I think I solved by calibrating full throttle, brake and neutral. Before I re-calibrated, under acceleration the truck would abruptly brake, spitting tiny pieces of kyosho spur everywhere. This is not cool at 20+ mph. What gives? I assume the reason is that I did not have the brake properly calibrated? Thanks.
