Am I Dumb

I recently picked up a crappy tmaxx 2.5 for 75 bucks. I hate nitro so tossed all the old nitro junk and put an emaxx chassis on it. The question i have comes in the transmission. I have two stampedes laying around so i took one of them apart and crammed the tranny in the emaxx. In the future i really want to go Brushless. Can i beef up a stampede tranny enough to handle a brushless setup like a novak HV-maxx or am i dumb for trying? Is the 2.5 tranny worthy of the abuse/convertble to electric. Any info on the subject would be great.
