thinking about e-maxx upgrades

i want to either get a hpi hellfire ss and do a conversion or upgrade my e. i think i want to get a sheet of lexan and make something like the g3 race chasis but make it to where it used a center diff istead of the emaxx tranny.:032:

Not possible with a flat sheet of lexan or any matterial for that matter, the G3 chassis has two decks that need to be joined precisely and thats not something for the unexperienced to attempt unless they have a CNC machine and 3d computer modeling software.

Oh I'm sure it's possible...people was building way more complecated stuff than RC trucks before computers. Just look at the seven wonders of the world ;) Now me, I would simply ask my self what I wanted to achive with my truck. You mention Hellfire...if you're into serious racing that maybe the way to go. If you're 50/50 racing and bashing, I would just upgrade my Emaxx. That is just me.

I know- I just wanted to point out there's a big difference between hacking up a lump of material with a dremel & hacksaw and carefully designing something to make sure its 100% perfect on a computer. All a matter of time/skill/money I guess......

Although I am up for hacking away at anything with my Dremel. I don't see how anything got built before the invention of the dremel :005:

Honestly, I wouldn't design my own unless I had a mill/lathe/CNC, or something of the sort. I would race it though, so it tracking crooked down the straight just wouldn't cut it. And honestly, I would NEVER get a Hellfire. They aren't worth a damn. Your E-Maxx with a few mods will handle far better from what I've been told..

how are the tmaxx cvd from traxxas will they fit the emaxx?

they will fit.
but i would use 3.3 sliders.

The drive shafts will fit but the center shafts want.
