Fastlane Machine Wing Mount - 04.29.2007, 01:42 PM

Hi all,

I recently built my Fastlane Machine E-Maxx and installed a TeKno RC wing mount. It works okay...but I am curious if anyone has had better results another vendor.

I notice that the FLM shock towers have four screw holes that are "extra." Sure would be nice if anyone knew of a wing mount that matched up to these holes.

Thanks.

Thanks Serum...

Will any Mugen wing mount work? Or are all Mugen mounts the same (never worked with one and really don't even know model names)?

It's a little tricky at first, but it does work very well once you get past finding the right screws. I also had to "open up"/make larger/drill out two of the holes on the FLM shock tower. The mount doesn't come with screws. I used two of the screws that FLM sends for mounting shocks (the ones for the stand-offs) and then two long 4-40 screws.

Here's a pic:

I got my mugen wing mount and it doesn't line up very well. I was only able to get the lower screws to mount up but it is not a direct fit.

Line up the bottom screws with the top set of shock tower to chassis screws...then line up the top set of wing mount holes with the holes you are now using...it fits. Essentially you will be dropping it 1/2 inch.

Thanks for the pics... that helped alot.. I was able to use the screws that came with my wing (it had all the hardware as well as a few extra screws) Only thing I have left is to find 2 long screws for the upper wing mount and drill the shock tower for those.
