so i bout a rtr bl revo... what batteries?

hey guys i went on ebay and got a rtr revo http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=250119096198

ik its nothing amazing but for now i will be driving that beast. the main reason i bought it was because everything was setup very nicely and securly. price was relatively good IMO since the chassis is a custom job and everything.

rigth now im running it on my old rsgp3300 packs and its nothing real fun. 30mph according to garmin gps and it has no real power in grass and what not.

heres my dillemma. i have 2 3s a123 cells and the charger that came with it. i know i cant run 6s because its like over 18 volts. am i right? i think im going to take it apart and make it a 2s and a 3s pack and then wire it up in series. so thats like 16.5v and i dontttt think it will run that high the whole time right? and as you can see the truck has a ubec on it so that helps a little correct? since this is only 2300 mah i will have very short runtimes so i will buy another 2s and 3s a123 along with another charger. it will cost me around 210 (160 for batts and lets say around 50-55 for the charger)


ORRR i can go with lipos. more costly but im guessing more power and a heck of alot more runtime. id be buying the 8000 4s2p will cost 275. so def alot more and thats not even including the charger. for the charger i have an ice charger and if that will work then i will be using that. but if not i will probably go with the super brain. also i will need a balancer right? whats that like 30 bucks?

ORRR i was just thinking about this right now. i can go with 16cells ib4200 and buy a superbrain so i can get dual charging will the superbrain actually do that? wait........ will the mm esc withstand 16cells? would i have to go with 14?


lmk what will be the best setup do realize that i dont often race so dont really consider that lol...

actually its #12 truck. Its a nice chassis. Not sure on the batteries. I know Cart213 used a 6s A123 pack in a truggy with a MM, but thats pushing as bad as 5s lipo's. Nice score dude, If i saw it i'd have bid on it

4S2P maxamps 8K's would be a nice combo.

will the ice be able to charge them? and are they worth friggen 275? that is an expensive battery lol the whiole truck cost 200 more than that! ahah

also my deals with lipos... exactly howwww bashable are they?

I am running 8k maxamps in 2s 4s and 5s setups ( i got 2 2s and 2 3s) and they have never got hot no matter what i throw at them. I got a 2s and 3s apcks of the maxamps 5000 and will tell how they do. Yes the Ice will charge them good just need a balancer, Hyperion LBA10 is a nice balancer

mmkay. and lets just say i launch my truck and they battery flys out? i have a nice battery setup so that should not happen but lets just say. how will that affect the lipos?

also what is the charge time for lipos with an 2s 8000 batt?

and are there any lipos with like a hard shell? i thionk the orion and some other brand have them. i cant remember

I have had mine fall out, nothing violent, just a hard landing and rolled on the ground and they hold up good
