06.10.2007, 12:51 PM
I'm planning to have another project a brushless truggy,I already have the motor of choice which is Neu 1515 1Y ,I'm really very impressed with Mamba speed controller with the use of computer ,I have it in my losi matt francis stadium truck and been winning races with it on a modified electric truck,Is it compatible with the NEU? thanks for all inputs and any suggestions on the truggy for racing?

You must have been away for a while or something, because this has been a pretty big topic of discussion here on the forums.
The short of it is that the MM will run the Neu motors, but most (if not all) are experiencing cogging with the combination. The problem ranges from tolerable to not being able to get the vehicle moving without giving it a push.
Castle is supposed to be releasing a software fix for the problem, but it has been a long time coming. The quickest solution is to either get a Quark Monter Pro to run with the Neu, or get a Lehner to run with the MM.

I think the software fix will be a long time coming, after the monster max. If the little mamba can run Neu motors fine, why would anyone buy a monster max.

Well that will depend on the price, features, package, and thermal design...
AAngel: I can't remember now, did you run your Neu with your Quark, or the MM?

Actually, I ran the neu with both. The Nue suffered from cogging as I described above, when run with the MM. As long as the truck was moving, it was fine. Once you stopped, getting started again was iffy. I tried everything too. Cap bank, gearing, timing, start power, etc. The cogging was there to stay.
Unfortunately, bdebde is right. I don't think that Castle will release that fix until some time after the MMM is released. I know that I wouldn't buy a MMM if my MMs worked with the Neu. Well, I'd buy one MMM, but nothing near the number of MMs that I have.

Do you have a Quark Serum?
