whats wrong with the revo? - 09.09.2007, 05:13 PM

so i got everything installed and everything running fine and noticed a clicking noise when i drive. i found out it was my front end that was making the noise. i rebuilt the diffs... nothing changed... i put in a new set of diffs... same thing happened. i put on the rear driveline to the front nothing changed.. i pyut on cvds in the front.. nothing changed.. so what the heck is the problem i have yet to just put a complete new front end on but i really dont feel like doing that. if anyone can help id be greatly appreciative.

thanks

Does it click just by pushing it while the system is off? Are the diffs shimmed correctly? Are you sure the clicking is coming from the front and not the tranny, spur/pinion, or motor itself? Which tranny do you have?

Sounds like it's time for a drive-line tear down, I hate it when funny stuff like that happens.

Which tranny did you use for the conversion. I know w/ the maxx tranny there is a little spot on the chassis you need to take down so the drivelines don't rub. Perhaps your drive lines are rubbing somewhere?

"well idk what the problem is but its time for a new hobby. or a break."

There have been times in the past that I feel just like this, and sometimes, I'll just walk away for a week or three--like after I've trashed my Revo diffs again or after a really bad wreck that broke a lot (last big one cost me > $100 & I had to rebuild half my Revo). Sometimes it happens after I realize I wasted some good money on bad upgrade parts.

I do my best diagnosis & work on my R/C vehicles when I have time to do things right, but most importantly when I'm not angry or frustrated.

Or you can do my trick and buy 30 or so rc vehicles and when you get sick of one just go to another! Problem with this is that you will end up with a lot of half assembled vehicles and a ton of spare parts, most of which you can't find! I am slowly getting there, I almost have 12 working vehicles at the moment!!! Don't get discouraged, just take a break and work on it when you have a decent amout of "quiet time".
