mgm cables - 09.10.2007, 06:28 PM

I think i may have forgot to order something i needed. I just got the MGM compro 160 and the usb com+ adapter. Can the receiver plug be hooked directly up to the com+ or is the separate cable sold by mike required? I didn't think to order it the first time assuming the cables got hooked up similar to the castle 1/18th scale controller and external usb adapters.

There are 2 ways. One is a separate cable that plugs into esc. The other is the rx cable. Unplug it from the rx, plug it into the usb, open the software, plug in your main batterypack, then turn on your esc. It sounds scary, but that is how it works. The data will show up on your screen in a few seconds after the switch is turned on. The other way with the separate cable is the same, except you don't need to unplug your rx connection to the esc.

Good Luck.

mkrusedc - I bought the mgm com pro 160 and this controller to pc adapter. http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail.php?prod=MGMusb

There is also an additional cable that connects the adapter to the controller, but according to LX muff, it is not needed. :)

You do need the MGM USB adapter, but those are the 2 ways to go from the esc to MGM usb adapter to usb to computer. The MGM usb adapter was thought to be understood. The extra cable cost about $10 and the adapter about $25. They are on Mike's store.
