Wiring Fiegao & Gearing ? E-maxx - 09.20.2007, 02:09 PM

Hello, I have an E-maxx

1. I just purchased my 1st fiegao 8xl. I have a question on the wiring to a mamba max ESC? Does the colored wires on the mamba max matter where they plug to on the fiegao since the fiegao wires are all black?

2. General gearing? I will be doing some bashing with it. I'm running 4s @14.8v and have max mulcher tires with 19" Diameter. Is 20p/54spur OK ?

Any help is appreciated

The Motor wires don't matter; If the motor turns the wrong direction, switch any two wires. On the gearing, someone else will have to respond to that as I have no idea on an E-maxx.

19" diameter tires!!!!!

Wow, thats like small 1.1 car size.

I am guessing you mean circumference, which would be a 6" diameter tire.

Your gearing guess of 20/54 sounds good, I would get an 18 tooth pinion as well just in case the motor temps are too high with the 20 tooth. This should be a good setup, the 20 tooth will put you over 40mph, while the 18 will be around 37 mph, which is my preference for bashing. Much faster than 40 mph just draws more current and wastes runtime, as you are not likely to do over 40 while bashing anyway. Good luck, and congrats on the first feigao. I have about 20 of their motors in all different sizes and have been very happy with their performance/cost.
