mgm controllers.....TMM?

i found a little write up on the mgm controllers and found out there are two types, SMM and TMM oh, and also TMM extra. from the reading, it looks like any of the TMM controllers could serve as car duty controllers as long as amps and voltage is matched up. i know there are some controllers without the heat sink, and it looks like that is the only difference. am i right in my thinking? i'm just trying to know all options before i make the plunge in my purchase.

The one that Mike carries are the latest, they are hydro version with waterproof coating on PCB and heatsinks.

the reason i'm asking is because there are more options involved in the plane esc's, for instant the expert+ 6032. that would cost less than the 9032, and work for some installs. anybody know if the software is interchangible between the plane esc's, and the car/boat?

The internal software is different for the plane ones.

All of their controllers can be ordered with the car software and whatever options you want, you would just have to have it special ordered vs in-stock controllers. The stock Mike has are the controllers are the ones best suited to the car market. You could get a 6032, but you would have to be careful in designing your system so that you don't excede the power limitations of the ESC. 60A is not a whole lot of headroom on larger apps, even 1/8th buggies. Otello has a thread right around here where he has a neu 1512 on 33V on a buggy, and he will even hit peaks as high as 60A (avg ~45A.) It can be done, just be careful not to overrun your ESC for the sake of a few $ when you are already putting quite a bit into it anyway. g/l.

FYI: I know the TMM stands for "total motor mgmt." What that all deals w/ IDK, just be sure the controller you get is an expert+, not the Z's or race boats.

thanks, thats the responce i was looking for. i haven't got a real plan yet as to what i want to run, but i'm just learning along the way as much as i can.
