Both are enerland cells. The Polyquest are the name the factory uses, the flightpower guys buy their cells from enerland and assemble them themselves

Work because i gotta, play because i wanna

People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

dito what Crazy said, but Flightpower match there cells so flightpowers balance better, although the peformance will be the same.

I read that with FlightPower, they tell you not to trickle charge them.

My MRC 989 will trickle charge after it charges for one hour. Should I change this? I had thought this was common since the charger does this by default.

That depends on what is meant by trickle charging.

Charging on a LiPo program at constant voltage constant current with low current rates is no problem if that's what they mean.

Any LiPo program will only keep the current constant when the cells are a significantly under 4.2V (full), as they aproach 4.2v the current will be dropping and when they hit 4.2v the current is 0.0A, with a 1C charge rate after an hour they are only still charging due to this lowering of the charge current, they have most of the charge but it will take quite some time to fill them right up, some chargers will beep or light up a LED or show a message saying they are close to full here, continuing to charge with progressively lower currents until full, if the last bit of the charge is what they mean that is no problem.

If its a higher voltage applied at a low current such as is used to slow charge a leadacid/NiCad/NiMh or hold a NiCad/NiMh at peak until you use it, it would overcharge and be dangerous for any LiPo pack.

In English trickle charging would only really describe the bottom one, but as a lot is lost in the translation from American to English and Vica versa I include a couple of alternative versions.

If It is the bottom one I guess that the trickle is automatically de-activated when you select a LiPo program as i have not heard lots of reports of them starting fires, but i would make sure of that before I used it the first time.

This explains it then, mine will charge at full rate, and then beep once when it hits the volt max. Then, for one hour, it will reducing the charge volts, and then it shuts off.

I just wanted to make sure this was a good way to charge them. The charge will switch to say "trickle" so that is why I was wondering.
