Nue 1506 2d/ 8000 mah 10c pack - 10.29.2007, 03:35 PM

I just got done running a 1506 2d Neu motor in my aluminum stampede. 10C 2s8000mah polyRC pack was doing the duty. I was getting some jerky startups and I am thinking the pack is to blame. I am constructing a pack with sub-Cs to see if that is in fact the issue. Anybody have thoughts on the setup? ESC is a proto, so no details on it.

Best way to find out is to swap out one component at a time. Battery/ESC/Motor. I wouldnt think the 10C 8000mah lipo would be a problem for startup. Its capable of 80 amps constant and 120Amp peak. More than any sub-C pack will ever deliver.

Proto ESC you say??? That would be my first suspision. But if you testing protos, why not get some better lipos to eliminate that as the possible issue.

EDIT... If the pack is truely a 10C pack that is. I dont know anything about PolyRC so I cant judge quality there.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

Silent...But Deadly

First I will swap the radio to make sure it wasn't just glitching.

Then new batts, then a new ESC.

Yea, sounds like its the ESC. Not surprised really, since I'm assuming its a CC ESC since you did the testing on their BEC. The CC controllers don't like Neu motors.

Started getting things sorted out this afternoon, everything running pretty smoothly. This motor has some nice power! Then I hit my driveway at about half throttle and did a front flip about 20 ft into my yard. Broke the shock tower clean off the chassis. Bummer.

It is all FLM, they didn't do enough testing when they made the rear assembly. The rear tower is only held on with two tiny 3mm screws. It is not good at taking cantilevered forces evidently.
