What the heck is wrong with people??? -
10.30.2007, 12:38 AM
Well, I went to school today just like any other day. Drove my car, parked it in the senior parking lot, went to class. Lunch comes, and I go out to my car to leave campus to get some lunch (those who have a lunch pass are allowed to do this, so long as they return on time for their next class). So, I come out like any other day and I hit the button on my key to pop the trunk. I walk up and notice a HUGE, 1 inch wide by 3 inch long light blue blob of something sitting on my paint next to my trunk lid (quarter panel). I have a black car so it stands out like a huge sore thumb.
I get some spare napkins I had in my car and try to take the stuff off. Most of it comes off, but it stretches out (turns out the stuff is gum which has melted from being in the sun, plus the heat of having a black car added to it too) and a ton of it stick to the paint and wont come off with the napkin. I'll have to use some ice and possibly a small amount of denatured alcohol to get this crap off (followed by a few coats of wax to seal it up, since the DA will take off the finish).
Obviously its some jealous punk at school who did this...but come on...this is how the world works...if I went and threw gum on everyone who had a Ferrari, BMW, Lambo, etc., I'd be chewing endlessly. If I find out who did this I'm gonna give him a nice stomping...maybe a 50mph brushless Revo to the foot.
But seriously...what the hell is wrong with people...just cause I drive a nice car doesn't mean you have to hate and screw it up...
End rant (this pretty much ruined my day, cause not only is it having to deal with this itself, but the fact that now I know someone is out there to get at my car and is probably gonna do more stuff to mess it up)...

Sorry to hear that man! Yeah, society in general is going down the tubes IMO. It shows a total lack of respect for anyone or their property. Those same people are usually the ones that don't care about anything but themselves and/or don't care about stuff because it gets given to them by mommy/daddy. It's bad enough that you have to lock sh!t up without having to worry about people messing with anything else. Makes me mad too!
If you do find out who did it, give them an extra stomping for me too!

I actually have somewhat of an idea about who it is...but I have no way of proving it and if I did go off on him and it turned out NOT to be him...it'd look bad. I'd rather not get expelled senior year (it'd be quite bad) but I'm ready and willing to throw some (hard) punches to show him whats what.
My parents let me drive that car...but I baby the thing like no other. I use spray wax/sealant after every wash, and wash it once a week on average. In the ~1 and a half years we have owned it, I've probably waxed it a good 50 times. (I've actually only driven it 10 of those months - basically once I got my license). Even when I couldn't drive it I'd still wax it just because (and this was before I even knew if my dad would ever let me drive it).
Its the nicest car we own (I get it cause dad rides a motorcycle to work everyday and mom doesn't like stick, though she actually knows how), and the last thing I need is some punk screwing it up and wasting my dad's hard earned money.

Yea...I guess in the end there really wasn't any damage to the car...but it still pisses me off none-the-less.

My guess is that you probably work hard for the things you have...otherwise you wouldn't have reacted in the manner that you did. Unfortunately we now live in an entitlement society...that is, an ever increasing percentage of our population believes that the Federal government or its affiliate support mechanisms (state, county, or city funded organizations) "owe" them something....
You have a nice car and since the "government" didn't provide the miscreant that spit gum on your auto with a ride of similar quality, they want to try and level the playing ground using their own misguided methods. My advice to you...kick their @$$ not once but twice...then sharpen your mind (concentrate on your studies) and body (work out hard), join the Marines, excel in life, and forever put yourself above that type of scum. Its a simple formula...
Sorry for the emotional response but it works...and besides the hard lessons are learned when you are young (if you are lucky). Kicking this $hitbag's @$$ will undoubted build some character that will ostensibly make him think twice before committing such immature and disrespectful acts in the future.

You have to look on the bright side of things. Its better to be pissed off then pissed on. Unfortunately it’s a lose- lose situation. You could fight back but then that pushes the other person to mess with your car more. If you don’t do something they think you are a coward and will continue to do stuff. So get some satisfaction out of it and beat some one.

I agree with Hickoryhead that you beat him he will probably screw with your car more and really that isn't going to be too hard to do. I wouldn't get too pissed about this as it's such a small thing like you said.
It's dam annoying that people do this to others cars. We had a gang of young kids coming through a car park where we lived smashing windows, stealing radios, bending aerials and doing massive amounts of damage in the process.
If you catch him in the act give him a mouthful and if punches are going to be thrown make sure he throws the first punch and that he comes out looking like an idiot. That's always the best punishment. Public humiliation.

Dude that sucks, if you know how to use a clay bar that will take it off easy and not damage the paint. If you have a black car try Blackfire or Zaino they will make your paint look amazing.

I have always verbally demeaned people like that in public. Kicking the crap out of somenone may hurt for a little while, but good verbal abuse really sticks with a person. A good insult or constantly reminding someone that they are inferior really gets to them. Especially if they lack the wit or intelligence to fight back. And if you can do this in front of your other school mates then it is even better. Nothing funnier than a quick reply that makes everyone laugh at anothers expense. A quick wit is very important, especially if you can develop it young. That and hard work will usually get you places faster than anything else. It sucks that people have no respect, but you can change that if they fear you due to your apparent superiority. Or you could find out who did it and fill the interior of their car with fast dry cement while they are in class. Or horse manure! I always wanted to do that!

I feel your pain and have been there and gone there myself, but be careful with the retaliation. The entitlement society also knows that if you hit them for misplaced gum you are wrong in societies eyes. Kick his a*# without witnesses or make sure he throws the first punch otherwise you are the aggressor and can get accused of battery.
edit: ...or even better do what lincpimp said above.

Yeah, a verbal slam can be very effective, but sometimes nothing beats the tactile feel of breaking someone's facial bones with your fist/foot.

Wow. What an aggressive group we have here!
Get the good beatings in before you turn 18.
Now that I'm married with kids, it's hard to justify smacking people around anymore. Too many potential consequences.

Very interesting group. Brian I consider on of the intellects of the group, with his calculators and all, wants to...
I guess all things in life balance. Kinda' like the consequences you spoke of which is why I posted what I did. Things have a way of coming back to you. The gum thrower will get his whether you give it to him or not.
