Burnt wire enamel ? - 10.31.2007, 11:28 PM

I have a extra rotor for a lehner 1950, but the motor it came from had some burnt windings . So there is something on the rotor. I think it's burnt wire enamel all over the rotor. I would like to try & remove the burnt enamel with out damaging the rotor so i can have a extra rotor if needed. Is this possible to do & what is the best way to do so ?. Thank's.

If the wires got hot enough to melt, I wonder if the rotor got hot enough to start demagnetizing...
