Hey guys, just wanted to introduce myself. I just sold my modified TXT-1 to get back into the emaxx scene. Here is a list of what i have coming so far:

Diff upgrades. Thinking about the Maximizer "posi diff"

So what do you guys think. I am thinking of getting the supermaxx Gen 4 servo saver. Is it compatible with the Gorillamaxx chassis and what do you guys think of the Maximizer posi diffs?

Yes the Gen 4 servo saver is compatible with the Gmaxx - as for the maximizer diffs i would question the durability ( however im not too familiar with it though ) I would difer to RC-Monster Mike on the diff issue..... And Welcome to the RC-Monster Family!!

Thanks. What do you guys use for the center drive shaft? I saw a post that the UE can be used with the extended gmaxx. The chassis that I will be using does not utilized the chassis extension.

If your using a straight up Gmaxx chassis- not the EXT Chassis than any stock CVD should work....

The SM servo saver works perfectly with the g-maxx chassis. I haven't personally tried the Maximizer posi diffs, but I love there diff cups and use them in most of my Maxxes. Sounds like your building a sweet truck. Any center driveshaft kit built for a stock e-maxx should work fine in the regular length Gorilla chassis. The Ext. kit is a sweet addition to the truck. Think about it for a future project, maybe. It adds to the driveability and helps keep the front end down (especially with high powered brushless setups). Welcome to the Forum!

I'm new to the Emax also, but I'm not looking to spend that kind of cash right now. I will upgrade as I break stuff. I have been reading this and a couple of other forums for ideas and answers. This forum seems to have solid info instead of a opinions and arguments about real performance.
Now to my question. For an upgrade in performance over stock is brushless the way to go? Is there much I can do with the stock motors/batteries? I'm not looking for 50mph, just some more power/speed for bashing around. I'm also not looking to spend what the truck cost. If I stay into the truck then I'm sure more power will be in my future. I have a Tmax also and love the speed of that, but the electric is much less of a generel pain to play with.

Welcome to the forum! I will try to address some of your questions:
If you want to keep the budget down, the first thing to upgrade is the batteries. Get yourself a few good quality gp3300 7 cell packs and your e-maxx will feel like a different truck. The stock chassis will not fit 7 cell stick packs, but some companies make a special 7 cell hump pack designed around the stock e-maxx chassis. There are several aftermarket chassis kits available that fit the 7 or 8 cell packs, and this might ultimately be in your future. Even a few nice 6 cell gp3300 packs will wake your truck up (depending on what batteries you are running now). Ultimately, brushless is the answer for low maintenance power and runtime. Start with batteries and build as your budget allows. Good batteries are a must to get the most from your electric vehicle, regardless if you go brushless or not. The stock titans are probably the best option in the brushed motor world for your truck, so stick with them until you go brushless. We will certainly do our best to answer any specific questions you have and guide you in selecting the proper system should you decide to go brushless or upgrade your chassis or any other hop-ups you may be considering. Welcome to the forum.

By the way it sound you want a basher that doesnt cost a lot of money. For a basic upgrade you can try running the emaxx on 14 cells if you already havent. It is supposed to get you 30+ mph. Then you can mess around with the gearing to give you the results that you want.

When you upgrade to brushless you are going to have to upgrade your drivetrain (cvds, maximizer diff cups with rrp ring and pinion, etc) I will be running the novak HV Maxx brushless setup on mine. It is pretty mild compared to what others are running but I have heard of someone breaking the sliders on just 12 cells.

Thanks for the responses. Seems like very sound advice to me. Good batteries will be my first investment. I did some looking and those are'nt cheap for the "good stuff". I would like to get at least one set of the gp3300. I have two sets of cheaper (ebay) 3000's now, am interested in seeing what really nice batterys do! Any recomedations for an online dealer?
I got the Tmax for me and an Emax for my 15 yr. old nephew. The boy is gonna owe me some serious amounts of work around the house/yard! His father is not around and this seems like a great hobby for the two of us to do together. The dirtbike turned out to be a bad idea. I still ride, but the boken arm kind of scared him away.

No problem. You can get some batteries from RC-Monster.com. There are other companies such as jetpack racing, balistic batteries, and promatch racing but those are super expensive. Mike has some good prices on batteries so I would check with him first.

We carry some decent batteries that will wake your truck right up. we have some 'better than average" prebuilt stick packs, as well as some nice matched high voltage packs that you assemble yourself. On this same note, it is recommended that you change the stock Tamiya connectors to better, low resistance connectors such as dean's connectors. This will make a difference as well.
