VID: My hyper 7 with 18 cells 9920 and 10XL - 11.09.2007, 08:30 PM

Since I've got my 9920 in from mike, I've been playing with running higher voltage on the hyper. Right now I'm running 18 cells for testing, and I'll be switching over to a 5S lipo.

I can tell ya right now, if you are going to do a buggy conversion, get an XL can. Don't waste your time with a L can. I was using a 10L with 12 cells, and it ran pretty good. I did some tests with 18 cells (running it a bit fast, but still within spec) and it really had a hellish problem with cogging. The 10XL starts right up, no cogging, and shoves that buggy around like it should. Definitely a better choice, IMHO.

Ok, I know you want to see the vid. :) Here ya go:

Oh yeah. 18 cells is REALLY heavy. 2.7 pounds. The LiPo pack will let me shed 3/4 of a pound, so that will really help...along with the voltage not dropping. Here's a grab from my eagletree I had running at the time of one pass.

Looks good... but man thats heavy. I am surprised when you accelerated so hard, the buggy didn't start turning or sliding to one side. How is the 9920 working out for you? I have hear that it hasn't worked all that well for some people...
