I know its an airplane ESC but I was wondering could it run a BL motor for our trucks? The specs are close but there may be something I am not noticing or don't know. I know the cost is way down and the saying goes "you get what you pay for." But whats the difference?
Well first of all, you got no reverse on a airplane ESC, and the brake is almost non-existent. So it´s not that good to run in a MT. But if you´re building a drag-racing car, then it´s fine! :)
Well, yea it would probably work. But i don´t think that when they say "Runs motor in forward or reverse" they mean that it can run like a car controller, probably just that it can be programmed to run the motor either way, instead of changing place of the connectors to the motor. But i may well be wrong about that, but that´s just what i think. And thank you. :)
If an Advertised ESC will run in forward, AND Reverse, plus have brakes, they're pretty proud of that. These additional functions require more eletronics and more complex software.
Gotta kinda remember that language barrier.
IMO, neither of these ESC's have "Reverse" and I would question their braking ability.
I like how the Mystery one is put together. That's an attractive package. It might work well in a forward only conversion with mechanical brakes.
Keep in mind though, one of the big differences with place ESC's is that they can't handle the high amp burst like the MM for example (100 constant, 200 burst I believe).
I would just stay away from them... and what's up with the guy who decided to put a small heatsink on the FETs, and then shrink-wrap over top of it!
“The modern astrophysical concept that ascribes the sun’s energy to thermonuclear reactions deep in the solar interior is contradicted by nearly every observable aspect of the sun.” —Ralph E. Juergens
Airplane ESC's do not see Burst amps anything like a Car/Truck ESC. I'll bet if you see it up close to spec... and start slow it probably will survive. The first time you hit full throttle from a stop... well I would predict that it will let out the magic smoke.
You know that stuff that makes electronics magically work. Once it is let out they don't ever work again.
