Any one know where I can get a motor mount? - 11.26.2007, 01:26 AM

I am looking for a motor mount that will hold the can of the motor and not mount up using the face plate. Kind of like mounting a scope onto a gun. Same idea anyways. Any idea's? I have seen some at Fine Desings web site on their custom cars. It looks like they are a Chris Fine design and I really don't want him getting my money. Thanks.

I can tell ya right now, Chris Fine doesn't design hardly any of that stuff. The motor mounts are just BK motor mounts. Mike use to be able to get them. He might actually have some. Just like the XLT motors...

I thought something smelled bad. It usually does with FDM stuff. On this page of his website he uses these mounts for all "his" converstions:

http://www.finedesignrc.com/ct-finedesign.asp

On this page he claims they are "FDM Alum. motor Clamp mounts":

http://www.finedesignrc.com/ct-1-8scaleparts.asp

On this page he claims they are "FDM Custom Motor Mounts" for the HPI Savage. I am assuming they are the same. No picture but look at what he uses for all his converstions:

Interesting.?.

I really need some mounts like these. I have some applications where they work better than a face mount. Does any body know where there is something like these? maybe a boat or Helo or even a plane motor mount that looks close that I could mess with to get working???

Is there any other place I can get some? Mike is usually busy. What does BK stand for? Where can I buy BK stuff besides Mike? Thanks.

He never really used them, I think. But who knows what the monster has lying around? Worth asking him.

Did you finally found where to buy the motor clamps?

I need a 45mm mount for my new LST2.

Never did. I know that Chris Fine at Finedesign claims he has custom mounts like these but I don't want to give him my business. So I am still looking.

Nice. And they are made for Lehners which is what I have. Might cost a good amount but prefect.
