Which brushless motors are the best for an e-maxx ?

- Plettenberg MAXXimum
- Plettenberg BigMAXXimum

- Lehner Basic XL 3100
- Lehner Basic XL 2800

Each of those motors is a very nice motor for the emaxx, although the Lehner Basic XL 3100 may run a little hot, depending on the number of cells that you are planning on running. Supposedly, if you have the cash the Bigmaxximum with fan is a really great motor, but then again for that amount, you can get some big motors from Lehner.

Basically, we need to know your cell count and what type of truck you have before narrowing down the best motor for your preferances.

The plettenbergs motors are a 4 pole motor. If you get them you have to get a esc to support that. The hackers and the fiegaos are almost the same motor ( I think).

I have a full gmaxx truck...

When I'll have my brushless motor, I'll invest to :

- MIP Center cvd set - e-maxx ( here)
- MIP Shiny CVD Kit (here)
- Maximizer 7075 Aluminum diff cups (here)
- Slipper kit Robinson Racing (here)
- Gorilla Maxx single speed ( here)

I run with 14-16 cells (3300 or 3700)

i would look at the lehner xl2800 for 14 cells. the xl3100 would run a little hot on 14 cells. if it was me i would get a big maxximum.

Guile the big maximium will need the schulze controler or something in that nature. Price difference between it and the bk is about$150. The motor is another $280 for the big maximum. I don't know how fat or deep your pockets are. But figure some pricing in as well. I ran the xl 2000. It did great. It ran hot to. I was running 18 cells. Motor was to small for the weight and gearing i was running. The lehners are nice motors. You want some awesome power and speed try a 7xl with the 9920.

The Maxximum with fan would work well for 12-14 cells. Or the Lehner Basic XL 2800. Or the Feigao 9L.

Guile,

What is your primary requirement? Are you going to race your e-maxx or bash? You want high speed or low end torque?

You noted that you're running g-maxx stuff, I presume that w/ 14 cells you'll be a bit lighter (weight wise) than a stock e-maxx.

Knowing this will help you determine the best motor/speed control combination for your application.

I sold my bigmaxximum to get a 7XL.. that bigmaxximum is overrated.. (for your eyes only) on 14 cells i would get a 7XL with a 9920.. That is the best money/quality value..

Dafni runs his 7XL with great succes on 14 cells. with the 10L his system got hotter.

I know the BigMAXXimum with fan and his esc are very expensive ! (BigMAXXimum with fan

==> 299.00 $ , Esc Schulze fut-18.97KW ==> 355.00 $ | source : icare-rc)

I want a hight speed and a very good torque ! In effect I run with 14 cells but I can invest to 16 cells pack...

go for the 7Xl and the warrior 9920..

That controller is a good choice, and the 7XL, 10L or an XL2400 for 16 cells. the 7XL is my favorite choice.
