Question is more what work have you done to your drivetrain - slipper, transmission, diffs, linkages etc as stock ones won't last long a battery with this setup...

PS Old EMAXX new EMAX?

ps On performance a 9XL on 4s is enough to get standing backflips.... This would be better...

PS Just looked back through some old threads so understand this is a new EMAXX so transmission and drivetrain is per revo so should hold up for a while.

You will go through driveshafts as they tend to tear...

I thought you had a MM and 8XL to go in the EMAXX - Did you try that?

I have a 10XL on 5S and I'm very happy with the performance. Runs cool and has plenty of power. I'd suggest the MGM 16018 to run it. I helped a friend of mine do a BL conversion of his revo with the above setup. He got a true rc 8000mAh 5S2P pack to run it (10C, so it was cheaper) and he gets about 40 minute runtimes with everything staying cool.

Any battery will do as long as it can do 80A+ continuous.

I agree about the upgrades. You will need a RRP slipper, because the stocker won't hold up. The stock diff cups will most likely disintegrate pretty quickly too, followed by the driveshafts. Might want to look into some steel idler gears for the tranny too. :)

If money is tight the A123's are cheap ... charge fast... and you can make a cheapo charger for them for a couple of bucks.

I run a 6s A123 and 9xl and am happy with it... but the drive train is staring to be the weak link..... (I guess that means the power train is just about right :))

They work with the Neu's i am sure of that. the 40.160 still is the biggest car controller available. as simple as that. I need to see the first smoked 40.160..

For the new maxx, I would think that a 9xl on 4s on the MM esc would do good. I also run the 10xl on 5s with MM esc which is great. I also run the Neu 1515 1/y on 4s and the Quark, also very nice.

I have my 8xl and mm in my inferno 7,5 right now and i've changed my mind about moving that setup over to my new e-maxx and to by a neew system for the maxx .

Highflier !
Do you meen a 1s6p a123 or a 2s6p ? i guess that a 1s pack might lose to mutch voltage in a emaxx right ? i think two 3s neuenergy lipo's woud be way more powerfull but a lot more expencive ofcourse !:(

I run 6s1p pack. It give about the same performance as a 5s lipo pack. Yea voltage is going to sag a little on launch. Does not hurt the cells and I still get wheel spin so it does not effect me much.

Many others run 6s2p packs. I thought about that and have enough cells but....
Did not want to add 1 lb to truck. and it gets harder and hard to place all the cells in the truck.

I have not done it but if I was to do it again with no $$ worries I think I would go 9s1p.
I want slightly longer run time, and a cooler motor. It would also keep amps down a bit and give more power. the real conserne would be getting the right ESC and Motor wind. Maybe a 11XL of something close to that.

Oh and it would only add about .5 lbs that way
