I understand 5s would be better for the 1950 but im not sure 5s would fit under the body. I would rather have a 1940 but i cant find one i can afford .
Jhautz
The esc is a MM the lipo's are flightpower all of this is in my jammin buggy.
I am sure a 5s 4000 pack (or something like that) would fit, but I do not know your intended setup. If you have the motor, esc, battery, etc go ahead. I am sure that it will be fine, you have good equipment there!

I was only asking about the gear ratio i posted for the 1950 8t hi amp.
Ok, your gear ratio is too high for that motor to run most effeciently.
I have a 15t on it know . what would you recomend ?. I got beat by a stinkin 9L last weekend . We used GPS i topped out at 31.7 while skellyo's mbx5 & 9L went 41.3 .

No, no, no...it was 43.4mph
Although, I do believe the MBX5 is going to be torn down here shortly and donate its MM ESC to the CRT.
I would say that the motor should make plenty of torque, just gear it up until something gets too hot! Keep an eye on the temps and you should be ok. I see no reason why 18/36 will give you any issues. You just have to make up for the lower motor speed with higher gearing. Not the best way, but most certainly cheaper than a new esc and batteries. Now if you were trying to get 50mph out of that setup you may have issues, but 40mph sounds realistic and definately do-able.
