That would be incredible if the MMM was actually out in March and everyone got 25% off. They would be sold out of them is no time at all...

Just read that. Seriously, if any Castle employee is reading this, be proud of what you have done. I could care less where you buy your components. The money made by Castle is staying in the US and is benifiting All of us Rc adicts here. I am a business owner and cannot stand other companies moving out of the US to make products. I would rather pay American workers to make what I need that anyone in another country. We have a great country here and I think we need to be more patriotic in our thinking. Novak had the same issues with Cali and their "expetive deleted" lawyers.

I for one will not purchase anything from Castle while they are offering this discount. I hate to think that Castle needs to make amends for this " false advertising". Their stuff is made here, in the USA. Why should they feel the need to "compensate" us for this? This kind of BS is a slap in the face to American companies. This pisses me off. Big Time.

Sure their product are MADE in the USA. I could give 2 $hits about where they source their components from. Most likely they have to do that due to the fact that companies have pulled out of the US and moved to taiwan for cheaper labour. I will gladly pay more for a proctuct that employs ameriacn workers. Keep the money in thos country ans screw the world economy crap. Just my 2 cents and sorry to all of you who I may offend. Actually I am not sorry, deal with it!

If Castle wants to have a sale, fine. I do not mind that. But for this reason I do. I would suggest that we do not take advantage of this. I would hate to see an American company take a hit like this on their profit margin due to some whiners. Lets keep paying Castle what they deserve and they will keep the products we all want coming!

I gotta say when I first read linc's post I was thinking "what's the problem?" Then I went to Castle's site and I have to say I totally agree with you linc. I will buy my MMM as a pre-order and pay before March in order to make sure they get what they deserve for their product.

Good thing nobody spilled hot coffee in their lap while installing their Castle product or the lawyers could have shut them down for good.

Good point on the coffee. I like that!

I am sure that alot of people agree with me, what a bunch of BS. And I know plenty of people will take advantage of this. It just sucks IMO. Here we have a company who really seems to want to get products out to the fringe lunatics of rc (just came up with that, nice way to put it) and they get shot at for semantics. This kind of BS should be thrown out of courts and the people responsible should be heavily fined.

lincpimp, while I agree with you, I see the argument. It should be stated "assembled in the US" in all technicality. However, again, I agree that its a pile of steaming bull.

The products are great...how does the fact that some tiny friggen cap was made in taiwan hurt anyone?

Unfortunately, the price of the sidewinder with this sale is too good to pass up, so I'll probably pick up one. Hey, you gotta take advantage of what you can!

It is a tough decision to make. They would not have had the sale unless they wanted to. If this is some sort of reason to have a sale, well it is Castle's fault. I will buy my MMM from the LHS and support them, as it is important to have a Brick and Mortar shop available.

They are still making money same as they always do... the difference is that they are selling direct to the consumer instead of through distributors/dealers.

This would not be as big a deal if they were only to contact customers in their database, but in the internet/forum age.... word spreads like fire. :)

The ones probably missing out the most are the LHS. Castle probably won't like having to deal with all the orders though... as it's not what they typically do.

It's kinda like getting to be a dealer or sponsored guy for one month....

I Wonder??? - 02.02.2008, 06:44 AM

You know it is good to read all of the proud American entries, and being retired US Navy I agree with the sentiment. Linc you seem to feel pretty strongly about supporting the good old USA. Just as a thought I wonder what kind of vehicle everyone drives? How many of us are supporting the USA in the vehicles we drive (American Made). I am not trying to piss anyone off. I drive a Dodge Grand Caravan LE myself. So I feel bad myself, but I am posted overseas where driving anything American is dangerous and just asking for trouble. Plus we purchased this thing for a couple almost nothing $$$$ from someone else leaving the area, so it blends right into the atmosphere that we have to live in while supporting our nations foreign policies.

My wife and I talk about this subject all the time and cannot see why Americans will not buy our own products to support our countries econemy. Can you imagine how much money we are pouring into the foreign econemy with our thurst for ultimate cars and trucks? It is terrible just to think of the amount of money we are giving away. ONce again this is why we are handing over our powers to outher countries. Just a thought... Anyway great job to CC for what they do for us.

I can't agree with you more - America needs to buy American but only when it can afford too - i.e. cut the credit rush which is killing the country...

25% of MRSP for a MM of 160 is 120 which is still 5 more than BPP sells them for so I figure actually castle will make more money from this deal than selling to a hobby store.

It will be the likes of BPP and Mike that actually get hurt for this - So if it is a close deal I'd actually buy there that way we are supporting great stores.

BPP, RCM and CC are a beautiful combination!

I can see it now. This is going to be like the bidding wars on Fleebay where everyone is waiting to see what the price is going to be and jumping on it at the last minute. We will see everyone clearing out the stocks in a few minutes. If CC is eliminating the LHS/middle man by selling online directly through them, then CC's profit margine is probably still pretty reasonable even with dropping 25%. At any rate it sounds like it will be a good deal for us if the MMM makes it into this sale. I for one am looking forward to getting to try it out on my toys. Buy American and support our way of life, before things go too far and we cannot turn it around.
