The wheels that fit the tires are 3.4 diameter and 1.6 width.
I would like to find some beadlock wheels in 17mm to fit these tires but all I can find are 3.2...

I found two single small (I mean, tiny) o-rings in my parts box. These were absolutely PERFECTLY sized to take up the slack on the crt.5. The shims are hard to tune the gap.

Yes a bearing would probably work very well. I would check your local hobby store and see if they have something hopefully the same (or darn close) size to the axle diameter, and about 1.5-2mm thick....
