WTT: Neu 1512 2.5 D/F - 11.02.2008, 12:05 PM

I bought a Neu 1512 2.5 D/F thinking I was going to use 4s for my conversion. Well, things have changed and I have decided I want to use 6s. I would like to trade for a 1512 3 D/F or a 1512 3.5 D/F.

You can email me or call me.

Just to let you know, MTXMUGEN on here can rewind the motor to a different KV.

I stand corrected. Sorry for the off-topic

Edit- talking to him now, says that he found out how to but has not.

I would rather just go with a different motor than to have mine rewound to a different Kv

Why not just run the 2.5d on 6s but just gear down?

Brian, you may have misread. 6s with a 1512 2.5d is 45,510rpm... A bit high.

No, I didn't misread. I know it's a bit higher than most people normally run, but it'll work fine. Someone posted efficiency graphs on the Neu motor and they hold pretty good efficiency up to around 57k rpm. As long as the gearing is kept reasonable, amp draws would be about the same as a lower rpm motor geared higher. The amount of work doesn't change, just how you get it...

Thats what I do, but I would rather run a lower Kv motor and gear up. It will also help with chassis balance.

a bigger pinion will put the motor farther off center making it more equal to the heavier battery weight on the other side.

how old is the motor?

Kind of a weak reason IMO. For a given spur, the difference in motor position between say 18T and 10T pinions is only 4mm, and that's quite a difference in tooth counts.

Like I said, it is also for efficiency reasons.

Now does anybody have a motor they would like to trade?
