My E-GST - 11.06.2010, 03:10 AM

A long term project, started one year ago.

Original center diff, then modified to use two telescopic cdv.

Modified

This is the original motor mounts made but a friend of mine, but he did it without thinking too much.
A lot of measures were wrong and i've made a lot of work to make it functional.
Distance between spur and pinion, holes for the tvp, distance from ground and position of the center diff are wrong. I milled the motor mounts by myself and builded two carbon plates to fit them in the chassis.

And this after some work to make it usable.

Some studies to fit everything in the small chassis

Wow... Nice. The CF plates look fine in there, and they allow you to remove the entire assembly at once for easier service.

This is my solution form twin steering servos. A must in a monster so huge and heavy. Two bluebird digital with 14 kg/cm inside hobao servo mount.

General view with medusa 36-80-1600

But with original spur and 11T pinion there was too cogging (another error not calculated by motor mount guy...)

So i switched a 66 spur instead of the original 46...

The cogging went away but for this Monster the medusa was too tiny so i changed it with a Castle 1717. More more power.

wow, you have almost completly did my exact conversion i just completed. you have better machine work on the mounts than i do, but very close setup. we think exactly alike on how this should be setup. bravo to us both. i will post some picks of mine later.

did you cut down your front shaft? mine is alot tighter than yours is.

Yes, i think about 1 cm. I would like to split the 6S and put two 3s lipo aside the rear shaft. In a lower position for a better CG.

so funny, i was also thinking the exact same. i put the motor plate back in for now just to hold my current 3s in since its too long to fit that spot.

so how is this truck pulling its weight with 6s power? mine on the 4500 30c 3s geared for about 30 does flip onto its lid and 1/2 time can do mid speed willies. can you do a flip? thats my goal. also is your diff locked, mine was from the original trans. that might have to change so i don't tear everything up or invest into a slipperintial.

I've some problem with MMM, i need to install an old firmware. The new firmware shows too cogging. I use 11T pinion and 66 spur with original center diff.
The monster is powerfull but not from 0 or at low speed. Maybe your esc is better in this case.

idk, its got to be your setup (firmware). i've gotten the best offline punches from my castle esc's, but i haven't ever had a mmm. mines got a real soft off the line launch, then hits hard. i will redo my setup after i get different batteries.
