Nah, they did not. Strange because all the ones I have seen pics of appeared to have a white, almost ceramic, coating. I did not remove anything. I wanted to anodize but the finish is a little rough. Maybe I can do some sort of bead blast and/or polishing but not sure if I will go through all that trouble just yet. I just ordered the Neu 1512/1.5D
