Some Q's on lst2 conversion - 10.14.2009, 09:43 AM

This will be my first conversion, my previous cars were rtr or bought post conversion. I got a roller decked out with rd logics for AU$200. A few things to fix as it was being sold as a parts car. Side note- nitro is gooey sticky sht.

Set up is planned to be- modded quark, 1521 1y, 5s lipo + 6s2p A123, geared to 40mph or more (depends).

Things I have already ordered- single speed spur mount, alu diff cups, ti-ni ring+spur for diffs, swaybars and wing.

Things I haven't- 59t ti-ni spur (and pinions), motor, motor mount, gear cover.

I haven't ordered the above list because I'm not overly keen on the dude racing motor mount. To me it just doesn't seem right to have so much motor hanging like that. I'm sure I would bend it with my 'driving skills'. So I wondered if a smooth can in a tekno mount could be fitted with a 59t spur. I reckon that would be more durable, but don't know if I could mount it close enough to the tranny. Of course, it needs to be mounted over the tranny mounting point so that's just a spacer of sorts, but because i don't have it in front of me, it's hard to picture in my head exactly how it will all come together.

So has anyone tried a different mount than the dude's? And is there anything I missed or should add to the list?
